لقاء تلفزيون سوريا اليوم مع المهندس عبدالرزاق العليوي(خبير السدود والموارد المائية) و عضو الهيئة السياسية لمحافظة الرقة للحديث حول موجة الجفاف التي تجتاح منطقة الفرات وتداعيات هذه الموجة على حياة السكان المحليين وكذلك أثرها على الحيونات والثروة السمكية وعلى الزراعة. وضح الخبير في هذا اللقاء أن موجة الجفاف هذه لم تأتي منذ أكثر من ٣٠ عام كما أوضح أن سلطات قسد مارست قبل موجة الجفاف استنزاف جائر للموارد المائية في الرقة من خلال افراغها لأكثر من ٤ مليار متر مكعب من المخزون الاستراتيجي لبحيرة سد الفرات وهذا الاستنزاف كان بغية توليد كمية كبيرة من الطاقة الكهرومائية كي تبيعها للنظام السوري المجرم وكذلك كي تبيعها لحاضنتها وهذا الاستنزاف الجائر جاء على حساب توفير مياه الري للمزارعين وكذلك على حساب توفير مياه الشرب، حيث أنها عملت وبشكل مقصود على تعطيش وتجويع الفلاحين في المنطقة التي تسيطر عليها. تاريخ هذه المقابلة يوم الأربعاء المصادف في 01.09.2021.
